Self-Catering Holidays
Shetland and Orkney are ideally suited for self-catering holidays with plenty of good restaurants and cafes to enjoy. Prices on request, based on air or sea travel for any length of stay.
Hotel Holidays
Hotel accommodation can also be costed on a bed and breakfast basis. However, if you choose to stay in Unst we do recommend booking half-board due to the limited eating facilities on the island.
Combined Holidays
Enjoy the best of the Northern Isles by combining a visit to both Orkney and Shetland. To appreciate both, we recommend you stay a minimum of three nights in each destination. Due to the variety of combinations, prices will vary. Tailor-made itineraries and costs on request.
Holidays by Sea
Inclusive packages to Shetland and Orkney includes accommodation in hotels, guest houses or self catering, with your own car or a hire car.
NorthLink Ferries sail overnight from Aberdeen to Lerwick in Shetland every day at 1700 or 1900 hrs. The 1700 sailings are via Kirkwall, Orkney, arriving at 2300 hrs. Prices are also available for frequent daily sailings from Scrabster in Caithness to Stromness in Orkney.
Shetland and Orkney holidays can be combined on selected days depending on the sailing schedule. Prices on request.
Helpful Hints
- If you want to see our very famous visitors - the puffins - during your stay, remember that they have a short season, arriving in May and departing by mid August.
- Inter island ferry fares are much cheaper in Shetland than in Orkney so please check prices in advance. Booking is recommended and can be made through the local ferry booking office.
- Our weather is not guaranteed. Be prepared for several seasons in one day, so - as well as packing that warm, waterproof outer layer - don't forget the suncream!
